i love theorizing about the thing

that ending is amazing and leaves room for SO much

if you believe childs is the thing and mcreedy isnt, thats totally valid

i just HATE the eye glint and breath reasonings for that because they just are provably false

you can see his breath you just have to fuck with the contrast and stuff, its just the lighting

the eye glint doesnt mean anything, the movie proves that

but not only is the entire point that you CANT tell who the thing is

but also we see a creature with the eye glint in the blood test scene

i hate when people come up with a fan theory for a piece of media but like it completely goes against the entire theme of that piece of media

and also just doesnt even work because they just missed a detail that proves it wrong

the ENTIRE PREMISE of the story that inspired the thing was "if a creature could copy you PERFECTLY, how could you ever tell the difference"

so theres no concrete way to know someone is a creature without seeing the mutations
