Where are the #Mets going to play Jorge Polanco? The switch-hitter has hit more than 22 HRs just twice in his 12 seasons in the majors, played first base just once, and had an OAA of -4 at 2B in 2025. #LGM #MetsSky

In 2025, Edwin Diaz led #Mets relievers with the most innings pitched in which they allowed 3 outs and no runs—54. Tyler Rogers had more, 63, but only 20 while a Met.

❓Can you name the ex-Met who had the most in the majors? Hint: He‘s now pitching in the AL. #LGM #MetsSky #screwballai

I think that situation also reflects on Mendoza—and not positively.

Here’s the NY Post headline: “Revealed: Francisco Lindor, Jeff McNeil battled again, and Mets shortstop’s chilly rapport with Juan Soto helped doom ‘25 season.” Their problem is one that the team must address this off-season if they haven’t addressed it already.

I’m even more interested in the supposed friction between Lindor and Soto that the NY Post’s Mike Puma reported and how Carlos Mendoza handled that situation.

In the article, this drew my attention: “Cleveland has been known for it’s staunch defense with Correa, with the Guardians owning the third-best Fangraphs defensive ranking in 2025 and the fourth-best in 2024.”

True. In Flynn's five seasons with the Mets, he hit just .234.

Good guess. Luis Castillo played four seasons for the Mets (2007-2010) and, in his career, won three Gold Gloves— but that was in 2003-2005 when he played for the Florida Marlins.

He was a strong and versatile defender but never won a Gold Glove.

Ten different #Mets have won a Gold Glove while wearing a Mets uniform. Only one was a second baseman. Can you name him? #LGM #MetsSky

Two writers for The Athletic graded the Nimmo-Semien trade. One gave the #Mets a C+ and the #Rangers B. The other gave both teams a C. I disagree with both of them. If Semien is healthy, I think both writers graded the Mets too low.

Mets, Rangers try to solve their problems by swapping rough contracts: MLB Trade Grades
Marcus Semien and the $72 million remaining on his contract for Brandon Nimmo and the $102 million left on his — who did well in the trade?

The #Mets traded Nimmo’s bat for Semien’s glove.

For the 2024 and 2025 seasons, Semien ranked #2 in OAA for all second basemen with a 19 rating, per Baseball Savant. In contrast, Nimmo ranked #26 among all left fielders with a zero rating. #LGM #MetsSky

Mets’ painful Brandon Nimmo sacrifice makes perfect sense
The uber-makeover by the Mets began with a blockbuster — the exchange of stars that sent the beloved Brandon Nimmo to Texas for Marcus Semien.

The #Mets re-signed Tyrone Taylor. Strong glove, weak bat—great for run prevention, not creation. Among CFs with 200+ ABs in 2025: 6th-lowest BA (.221), 2nd-fewest HRs (2) & runs, 3rd-fewest walks & RBIs. Offense wasn’t his strength. #MetsSky #LGM
