Barett brings up the electric company analogy. Should we send notices to the power company and tell them to cut customers off because they now know those customers are using power to their computers to infringe copyright?

And we're off with SCOTUS arguments in Sony v Cox. The question at issue: whether ISPs can be liable for the copyright infringement committed by their users.

So, this is about OU, and I think it’s a fair characterization of a problem, the solution to which cannot be “put the instructor on leave immediately.” You cannot do things that way, or the rule is that Calvin gets an A.

It’s also infuriating because I spent seven years at this university and rubrics from the goddess herself would not save you if the institution, TPUSA and Republican politicians wanted to make an example of you.

every trans person i see post about the OU suspension knows that the suspended target is trans & a grad student, & has an innate awareness that this is about purging trans employees. every cis person i see thinks the target is a rando professor & that this is about giving conservatives good grades

Look, y'all know I hate AI as much as the next passionate hater of AI, but ChatGPT has nothing on the University of Oklahoma deciding that based on the first amendment students can literally say anything in their papers as existential threat to the university.
Oklahoma University has placed a grad student instructor on admin leave for failing a psychology paper on gender for citing *the Bible* as a source of empirical evidence.

In response, OU has placed on instructor on admin leave citing, get this, the FIRST AMENDMENT.

Universities are cooked.

I'll say it again -- I'm on my firm's AI committee: every canned demo has had brutal, malpractice-level errors, and every live trial has required more time and care to vet the output than to just do it, like working with an unteachably incompetent associate you'd need to sit down for a Hard Talk.

No wonder he’s so upset about people reminding the military to not follow unlawful orders. He’s ordering war crimes.
This isn't a military strike. This is premeditated murder and Pete Hegseth is going to spend the rest of his fucking life rotting away in the deepest hole in Leavenworth once America is liberated from this illegitimate, illegal regime.

I've seen people say that getting attached to ChatGPT is like "believing the stripper really loves you", but that's not true. It's more like believing that the dryer personally composed that little jingle on a lonely sockless night just to win your affections.

RFK has the sex appeal of an old moth-eaten sock and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to have their brain scanned and to be evaluated for a stroke
The women drawn to RFK Jr. see an intoxicating cocktail of romance and danger—whether it's getting attacked by a yak or texting about taking metaphorical bullets for each other.

But to most others, Kennedy is a reckless conspiracy theorist whose appetite for danger will result in a sicker America.
The inexplicable sex appeal of RFK Jr.
How can such ferocious desire be attached to this man? Two memoirs by the women who love him offer some clues.
