2/2 The Republicans rely on the unity of the Democrats to craft all kinds of manipulations. A field of independent candidates would potentially fracture the block of independent voters who have been charmed by the GOP and may even siphon off some moderate Republican voters (if they still exist)
I hope that the Dems can put themselves back together, but it might just be time for the party to dissolve and all current Dems to declare themselves Independent. The GOP has mastered two things: convincing people to vote against their own economic self-interest and being the party of grievance -1/2
