Happy Parkrun Saturday!😊🏃🏿‍♀️

Today, 9 years after my first parkrun, ran my 135th run aged 71, time 25m 41s, and achieved an age grade 88.12%.

My first parkrun was when I was aged 62, ran it in 26m 11s with a age grade average of 75.18

Keep tapping into your potential as you age.

To all those celebrating, wishing you a very Happy Jamaican Independence Day! #JamaicanIndependenceDay #Jamaica #Onelove #JamaicanIndependenceDay2025
Sometimes I’ll find any excuse not to get out there and move.
But I’ve learned—it’s not about whether I feel like it.
It’s about what my body needs.

Aged 71, 10K today in 58 minutes and 43 seconds.
My reminder:
Don’t wait for motivation. Just lace up and go.
Your future self will thank you. 🏃🏽‍♀️💪🏾
A fantastic summer night of music in @mostlyjazz.bsky.social in Moseley. @ezracollective.bsky.social and Jalen Ngonda were superb! Thank you.

I emerged as one of the few Black physiotherapists in England in 1975.

A thought I left with students:

‘When life derails you, as it surely will, make sure you have surrounded yourself with people who have your back and know how to find strategies to get you back on track.’

Today, I had the absolute privilege of sharing my 50-year physiotherapy career journey with students @unibirmingham.bsky.social as part of their career day.

Such a beautiful morning for #parkrun. It was a little icy, so I really slowed the pace and opted for volunteering.😅 There's always a place for everyone @parkrunUK
Today, it was very cold but this 70 year old ran 6.17(9.9km) miles in 58m.46s.

Why am I posting this? Just hoping to motivate others to get active and to stay active. I know the motivation I get from others is invaluable so, let's go!
Not the start, but the end of my 123rd #parkrun!
Also not my fastest at 00:26:30, but 1st VW70-74, 2nd in Age-graded table of 581 runners and 37th female!
More importantly, I got out of bed and I did it!
