I will likely be doing the same, dual boot for now using an SSD and give myself a transition period before going only Linux. My desktop rig hardware can’t support Windows 11 and I’m not in a position to upgrade the whole rig right now.

Something to add to this…

If you have the means, I’d encourage US cosplayers to visit Canada. I know Yeticon has an international pull, but there are other cons in Canada worth attending.

If Canadians don’t feel safe visiting us, then maybe we can come to them.

I’ve said this before, but international level esports/cosplay/etc competitions need to be moved out of the USA if at all possible.

I know contracts are signed years in advance, but it’s not fair for international competitors to qualify and then be unable or unwilling to enter the USA

Starting Oct 14th, anyone without M/F marker on their passport will be barred from entering/leaving the US via plane per Trump’s new ruling.

I know the Crown Championships of Cosplay have been moved next year from Chicago to the UK, UK has issues as well but they are def safer than the USA.

I’m worried in particular about Pokemon Worlds next year.

You are supposed to get an email.

But what has happened is that some people's hotel pages incorrectly updated saying that they got a room, when the lottery system is still running and it has not been finalized.

The emails have not gone out yet. Nothing is final until you receive an email.
