Most people would be unlikely to bother with the hassle of having to check a website (full of annoying/ trashy ads) every day just to see if they have won a small amount of money which they have a miniscule chance of winning. Sounds like a waste of time and effort to me?

This is rather misleading. Retail energy supply profits (ie, the profit made on UK household energy bills) were less than 4% last year and long term are around 5%. Or lower on EBIT basis.

The profit margin on the Standard Variable Tariff (SVT) is capped by Ofgem as part of the energy price cap.

Yes the cocoa price spike was crazy - although it's now dropped back down from the peak, to around the lowest it's been for over a year, it's still way above the longer term price.

Global price has gone up a lot, so it's more expensive everywhere, even without tariffs.

I know it's only £5, but the fact that after paying hundreds of euros to a private company plus the Home Office fees, they will only respond to an enquiry about why it was taking much longer to process the application than the time specified if you paid them more money, seemed ridiculous!

were met with a reply of 'nothing to do with us now, nothing we can do' & the Home Office charge a £5 fee to send them an email enquiry - only to reply with a generic reply that the application had been received, no indication of how long it was expected to take (which was the purpose of the email).

When my BRP card was stolen on holiday I had to apply for a temporary UK entry visa to be able to come back home. This is outsourced to a private company who accept appointments on only 2 days each month. Once they have sent it off to the Home Office, any enquiries as to why it was taking so long..

No, it's just estimates of overall GDP for Q3. The GDPNow is just an attempt to estimate using the most current data.

Also no contract has been put out for tender yet, nevermind someone being chosen, so there was nothing to "pull out of"...

According to article in the Times, this is what he said:

“It wasn’t in the manifesto. So we haven’t had a clear resounding public support at the ballot box for its implementation. So it isn’t one for us.”

“Palantir has long had a policy that we will help democratically elected governments implement the policies they have been elected to deliver and that does mean that often we are involved in the implementation of very controversial measures,” he told Times Radio.

“Digital ID is not one that was tested at the last election. It wasn’t in the manifesto. So we haven’t had a clear resounding public support at the ballot box for its implementation. So it isn’t one for us.”

Just pointing out that there is no literal 'Hitler Appreciation Society' involved. He attended and received an award from a Kremlin funded far right magazine (Compact) at a conference attended by key figures of the European far right.

On the death penalty I am guessing Reform voters with a large majority in favour and everyone else more of a 50/50 split? (Everyone else overall, but with Lab/Green/LD higher percentage opposed?).

Interesting - because a couple of 'digital marketing' companies running these fake celebrity endorsement / fake news article on fake BBC news website scam ads on Google are limited companies registered in Nicosia, Cyprus with Russian directors, secretaries and staff.

Saw a scam (video) ad on Google ads recently which was using a video hosted on YouTube as the ad (deepfake video of Martin Lewis promoting a cryptocurrency investment).

They didn't bother to change the file name to a title - the word in Russian means 'copy'.

Reported to YouTube who did nothing.

I was incorrectly listed as not having paid multiple months over multiple years (had multiple debt collector letters and phone calls threatening me with summary warrant/ Sheriffs court) - eventually all sorted with help from CAB due to council being useless.

Nobody ever turned up at my door.

Likely to be uneconomical in UK as well given US breakeven needs an oil price of $70 a barrel (although some sources say $50 to $60) and UK doesn't have the midstream infrastructure etc that the US has + smaller scale, higher costs here? But yes, also very unpopular.

Breakevens may rise from ~$70 to as much as $95 per barrel by the mid-2030s as core inventory depletes.
