The tricky thing about write offs is that there are no set rules, every situation is different, and is dependent on how you earn your revenue. In order to be eligible to write off an expense, it has to be a reasonable and necessary amount for earning your revenue. #entrepreneur #canadianbusiness

They tell you to “keep costs low” when running a business.
But let’s be clear - someone always bears the cost.
And too often, it’s the worker.

When you underpay contractors, overload your team, or hire without proper protections, it’s not “lean” - it’s exploitative.

Nothing will erode a company’s culture and employee morale faster than when an owner sells the company but sticks around just long enough to slash costs, burn out staff, and pocket a fat bonus. All of which is completely out of their control because they ‘no longer call the shots’ 🙄
