The thing about useful idiots in professional spaces is that the whole game, from the perspective of the fascist, is to constantly game them into taking ”innocuous” positions on any given day’s culture war issue, thus forcing them to perpetually conflict with everything left of the fascists.

hitting my "el problema es el capitalismo" button because the general public lacks the class consciousness necessary to see that what's at stake with e.g. ID marker changes isn't a nebulous affirmation of trans people's identities but is in fact the ability of trans people to, like, get jobs
This is a really well-done corrective to the NYT/Atlantic party line on how attitudes about trans people affect Democrats' electoral prospects. Liberal Currents continues to shine.

Something I hinged on to get to this what I describe: the Marxian fetishisation of artefacts is so complete in the case of AI that not only do we somehow conclude machines think, but we accept for them to think, speak, draw instead of us, while also thinking these are (expressions of) our thoughts.
