I feel like there’s a disjoint in conversation in the use of genAI in dev for games. My assumption when a studio claims to be using genAI is that they are using it to produce code- not art, and as someone who works in tech and dev across multiple levels i feel theres nothing wrong with that.

Yeah I think my final thoughts are actually kinda like this- the problem isn’t genAI it never was the problem is greedy execs and billionaires trying to make more and more money while paying people less and less. So I won’t lambast people and small creators for the use of AI.

Complicated feelings this morning- at first very happy because of E33s run at TGA then not long after seeing huge backlash to the apparent use of gen AI in ingame textures in development. I have my own thoughts on the use of generative AI in any and all fields so I need to look into this more.
