The words you don't want to hear uttered at LHR after the seatbelt sign goes off: "Unfortunately, our stand changed at the last minute to a bus stand." As if you don't already have to walk through the backrooms
of eternity to reach baggage claim, let's add a bus to the equation for max liminal time.

This paper finds the same thing I did in my book research. Today's stressors–traffic, work demands, social media, light pollution & noise etc–trigger biological responses for acute stressors but without any recovery. "Our body reacts as though these stressors were lions.” phys.org/news/2025-11...
Humans are evolved for nature, not cities, say anthropologists
A new paper by evolutionary anthropologists Colin Shaw (University of Zurich) and Daniel Longman (Loughborough University) argues that modern life has outpaced human evolution. The study suggests that...

The widespread indifference to the British Library's crippling cyberattack demonstrates a perilous failure to value the knowledge infrastructure vital for national prosperity

Yes that's right, tonight offers another chance to catch a glimpse of the beautiful aurora borealis.

It looks like the strongest aurora will happen before midnight – but it'll depend on where you are in the UK and if you have clear skies. ☁️

Good luck!

The amount of fireworks going off this year has just been horrid. My poor kitty is so stressed out. Hovering under the table every night. It just goes on and on. People setting them off for more than a week in my neighbourhood & probably more to come. It's awful for animals & annoying af for people.

Here's what I wish more PRs understood. Many journalists/writers are introverts. Some of us are richly neurodiverse and have severe social anxiety. We want to network but we physically cannot. If you made PR events structured amd scheduled, rather than open mingling, we'd function much better.
