Also apparently I was at risk of leaving the faith and needed constant shaming about no longer attending Sunday School.

The closest thing we had was baptism and confirmation prep, so once my cohort went through those there was no need for an adult class for YEARS because new members clumped.

I got EXTREMELY lucky that a beloved cousin is Catholic and one of my late great-uncles (who Grandma would hear no wrong about) attended at my first Episcopalian parish briefly as a young man.

And I *still* felt the need to hide when I started taking communion there Because Real Wine.

And that collar is not an Evangelical thing. They do ordination but there's 'we have it but we don't have it' re distinctiveness between clergy and laity; wearing one of those would collapse the illusion that they don't have a priestly class even though they clearly do and their power has expanded.

Debut books should get a Take-That section for That One English Teacher. Even anonymous to avoid the defamation risk might put enough fear in them.

(Mine said you couldn't use passive voice outside the very special assignment on it until you were published. Because EoS says "writers" can use it.)

And when we do have nationwide days of action like No Kings, we get told it counted less by people in more compact countries that it counted less bc it wasn't in the federal capital.

A trip to DC is once in a lifetime if that for most.

And there's still But It Was Performative about Jan 21, 2017.

It was in my school's Reading curriculum... the year the gifted program pulled the kids who needed to hear an anti-perfectionism tale the most out of on-level Reading.

If there was one book I could hand every kid the minute they are a strong enough reader for it not to be a strain, it's that one.

I took more Latin than I had to for the minor to understand the start of my religion, not to understand the start of my Middle Age.

It also misses how many pregnancies that now end in 'voluntary but economically required' abortions would have never started in the first place due to malnutrition amenorrhea or would have ended in malnutrition miscarriage or prenatal maternal death.

Our dietary floor is now No Skipped Periods.

I literally just switched to what I used during actual puberty.

If it stopped the comments from adults as a teenager, it should still work at 40ish. (I went cheaper and stayed there in college, time to go back.)

4) People with increased need for the nutrient without the ability to just ramp up food intake in the "proper" way to get it.

I rarely meet FDA recs for protein, so yes I am interested in what suddenly becomes high-protein this winter because domestic soy is at 'please pay me what I put in' price.

Dare I even wonder about the moon one in the No Return category?

Because I feel like the end of The Atrocity Archives by Stross just became a lot less out of nowhere but there's no way I'm searching anything in that category out on the Internet.

She just got an album sale out of me for that.

(The tension of growing up white in the South believing the We're Better Now platitudes and then the growing realization it's not the truth, wanting to save what you thought was real but it needs to BECOME in the first place... It's hard to capture.)

That TinySaint charm of St Lawrence isn't just in my kitchen to look cute.

To the point that me wondering what it would take to run a cell church using USA infrastructure in 2000 was met with accusations I was already planning to deny Christ on that day and should be ashamed of myself for thinking about those logistics.

So it's already in a LOT of youth pastors' brains.

I would expect so.

We didn't have it happen and I never heard a rumor of it being done as a stunt until I was an adult and it of the SBC, but it was a well-worn trope at my church to tell us youngsters it would happen to all American churches on the same day in our lifetimes.

When they're young enough the entire leadership either moved churches after the split, converted after the split, or was a member during the split?

Yeah that's a church exquisitely primed to separate, and as my godfather grew up in the 1st Mormon splinter group I know better than to take that bet.

I've played enough Hades 2 since release trying for it that I have broken the conversation selection system. Hasn't really worked yet but it prevents doomscrolling.

Unfortunately most of the books I wanted to read are either relevant history, dystopian, or too close to my current health mystery.

It's all the things that supposedly make "any BA or BS" work as a qualification. Time management. Project management. Sticking through something for 4 yrs equivalent of credit hours. Emergency time and project management because you WILL need to pull at least one all nighter or similar self-rescue.

Under cover of one of the protest nights. I *think* I remember it being the same night as the footage of BPD smashing in their own windshield at Downtown Crossing.

It was wild listening to what coverage there was and slowly realizing, yep that's a planned smash and grab not a protest out of hand.

(And in NYC, buildings like that getting smashed up would be a quiet residential neighborhood being terrorized. Instead that was blocks and blocks of buildings that each have three stores in them, none cheap, all getting hit in one giant rolling otherwise standard smash and grab robbery.)
megaforte84.bsky.social
Also there's plenty of footage from 2020 that wasn't on the news and wouldn't be recognizable if you'd never been there.

I've never seen footage of the night or aftermath of when Newbury St got smashed up anywhere but Downtown Crossing and the Commons. 99% sure he's never seen that part of Boston.

And that that's how we got them in the first place.

It's not like if we keep making new ones socially unacceptable at some future date humanity will have run through The List Of All Possible Slurs and there won't be any more to enter usage ever again.

And also in many cases seeing up a situation where she wouldn't get care at all. There have been HOW many 'we're not going to investigate or treat this bleeding before term, get off our property, we don't want to be charged with abortion' situations in the past year bc of Republican policies?

I still wish I hadn't misplaced mine.

Would have been an interesting art project to frame the thing with ace flag matting.

I know I had a version where the snakes had an ill-advised action at the top end and the natural negative consequences at the lower end.
