i could also post a nuclear take about how the indie rpg scene gets written off as slop even though it's barely a blip on the radar compared to other genres like roguelites because the indie rpg scene's so full of women and queer people. but i don't know if we're ready for that conversation lmao

mother has absolutely had a huge influence on the scene, but you can't talk about games like undertale and omori without also talking about games like yume nikki and off and space funeral and pen pals. but people just look at them and go "wow this is literally just earthbound"

everyone's already complained about the misconception of the "quirky earthbound-inspired indie game about depression" meme but it really sucks that this thought-terminating cliche has made people reduce everything downstream of the rpg maker scene to a bunch of indie tributes to one game

I finished annotating (most of) the translation with 8-4's assistance. I skipped a couple unfinished parts, but it's enough for the translator to properly start work on Monday! Yay!
