Tyrian purple is a reddish-purple natural dye, that gets its name from Tyre, a city in ancient Phoenicia, the dye was prized for its intense color and resistance to fading.

This seeming miracle dye was made from Murex Sea Snail secretions, the Snails lived in the area.
