Introducing Maeve Siobhán (“John” for my dad who we lost in March❤️) Day Conway.

A fast & furious arrival early this a.m.

Thanks to nurses at Labour & Birth, Dr Beaurivage for her attentive care throughout & nurse Shelly who took such good care of us.

Nick & I are very much in love.
That’s a wrap! Great to be joined by Athabasca MLA Leroy Laliberte as we finished our Rural and Remote Healthcare Tour in Meadow Lake today. We’ve covered more than 2,700km these past two weeks and spoken to so many frontline nurses, physicians, and healthcare workers.
2/2 Healthcare professionals who serve this community care so much & are full of ideas about how to address these closures.

Leroy spoke to challenges for Northern people forced to access care far from their support systems & paying out of pocket to travel for care that should be available at home.
1/2 Even the home community of long-serving Sask Party MLA Jeremy Harrison, Meadow Lake, saw dramatic 936 closure days in 5 yrs. This is highest # of disruptions/2nd highest # of closure days in Sk.

As we know, obstetrics are a big one & resulted in Kendal Carlberg giving birth on side of road.
Waiting. 😎 The ppl of Lloyd are still waiting for LTC beds & a 🏥 identified as being needed +10yrs ago.

Today we spoke to the press outside the Hospital. Leaky roofs aren’t all.

It’s seen 240 closure days. Often ppl are rerouted to NBattleford where things aren’t much better.
My statement on the torrent of trash and illegal dumping that shocks the city and plagues the neighbourhood of North Central every spring.

There is a community-led clean up this coming May 3rd 12-3. Meet in Buffalo Meadows Park. BBQ to follow. Bring your trucks & elbow grease.💪
On the road again today.

Cypress Regional Hospital has seen 204 closure days in 5 yrs. Nurses are burning out as they face one of the highest patient - nurse ratios in Sk.

The Kindersley-Biggar area has seen 341 days. That includes 77 days of obstetrical & 100 days ER closures.
Mid Rural Healthcare Tour. Nurses, docs, frontline workers frustrated but full of ideas on how to improve things.

So when Minister Cockrill complained we’re short on ideas, was happy to outline a few (32).

Good news? More where these from. We just need gov’t willing to do the work. 💪
Earlier this week I was up at first light to do CTV morning live in Regina to chat about our ongoing Rural Healthcare Tour.

ERs have been closed nearly 4,000 days province-wide since summer 2019.

You deserve better than closures, chaos and chronic short staffing.
I truly thought the Sask Party would have no problem supporting our motion that Saskatchewan people should not be forced to access virtual care when *1. delivering babies* or *2. facing life-threatening situations.* But… nope. 🤯
2/2 Ppl are having to wait longer & travel further for basic care at a time when reliable healthcare is essential to a bright future.

It’s time to reverse the Sask Party’s $17M cut to healthcare & stop taking rural Sk for granted.

📍s today: Saskatoon - N Battleford - Shellbrook - P.A.
1/2 Kicked off our Time to Deliver Rural Healthcare Tour in Cockrill’s hometown.

At 8 m pregnant, could I plan to safely have a baby in your home town? Too often the answer is no.

From obstetrical to acute care disruptions, rural Sk deserves better than closures, chaos & chronic short staffing.
Our Bill, the Sikh Heritage Month Act passed in the house today.

We’ve been trying to get this Bill passed since 2019 and while the events that led to the Sask Party finally voting in favour are troubling, this was a joyful day for our team.

Congrats to Bhajan and Tajinder who renewed the call! 💪
The Sikh Society of Saskatchewan has called on the Premier to expel Racquel Hilbert from the government caucus. This should be a no brainer.

We got our answer in Question Period today.

Profoundly disappointing to see the entire Sask Party caucus close ranks around her.

Brutal.
Those who spread hate speech should not have a seat at the table of government.

Any other workplace and Racquel Hilbert would be gone.

For years, this Premier has allowed the bar for MLA conduct to fall lower and lower.

This is an opportunity for him to show leadership.
Honestly. A disturbing level of hate that has no place here. Racquel Hilbert’s apology was an embarrassment - its weakness, delivery, timing.

The Sikh community - and indeed all Saskatchewan people - expect and deserve so much better.
The Sask Party quietly extended a $60M healthcare contract to a private American company that donates to Trump.

They’ve also donated over $30,000 to the Sask Party in recent years.

Maybe that’s why the Sask Party didn’t open the contract up to competition.🤷‍♀️

It’s a trofecta of Sask Party failure.👇
Haha love this! Sending solidarity. 😮‍💨
Update on the Sask Party’s 2025-26 Budget:
The Minister of Education just acknowledged he hasn’t signed the childcare agreement because the Feds won’t open it up to publicly subsidize for-profit childcare. 🤯
❌ Cuts to Education & Healthcare as systems redline

❌ No plan to address tariffs where others commit billions

❌ No commitment to sign the federal childcare agreement

❌ Debt servicing above $1B/yr for the first time in SK history

❌ “Virtual” treatment while loved ones continue to die of overdose
🚨The General Hospital has declared a “code orange” where strategies reserved for mass casualties events are employed.🚨

No this is not normal. No this is not OK.

The cause? A modelled influenza surge.

The Sask Party is flirting with full-on healthcare catastrophy. #skpoli
Outrageous.

Sooo, as this statement makes clear, Scott Moe has done *no* work and has *no* plan.

His idea of meeting the moment is proposing a closed-door meeting to come up with a plan *tomorrow*.

We should have reconvened the legislature to hash out the path weeks ago.

What a joke.
While Scott Moe auditions to be governor of the 51st state, other leaders are uniting to protect our communities.

Moe called Trump‘s conduct “disappointing“. Our leader called it a provocation.

With jobs, livelihoods, and our very sovereignty at risk, this assault cannot go unanswered.
