I am not sure there was a time i didn't know. I remember in the 1960s, there was conservative backlash against people who were gay. My dad remarked thst a cousin of his was likely gay and he was sad that the world being the way it was kept the cousin from living his life fully.

I can’t help but think today about how many young people were savaged on social media, branded as anti-semites and abandoned by their schools for daring to call for a ceasefire. I remember saying that it was the first time I can remember that calling for ceasefire was regarded as a hostile demand.

On this Indigenous Peoples Day, working hard to prepare for the 30th anniversary of the House Of Welcome Longhouse celebration. Lots of moving parts. Hoping giveaway is more organized. Meal is salmon, Makah potatoes, Huckleberry salad, bison lumping and grilled deer kabobs.

On one level I'm a bit jealous of people who are unaware and unconcerned. After the election and hearing about the chortling of the millions of worthless racist, stupid deplorables, I wished I too were a stupid thoughtless box of broken crayons. But I am not. And ICE will probably disappear me.
