That’s the tough part. Our actual landlord was a lovely guy. In our showing he joked about how spoiled his kids were/are as part of an anecdote about how he treats tenants. Well guess who has dementia now and who we are dealing with instead . . .

Our lease is an index lease. So it’s legal. But the thing that kills us is the index applies to the parking spots too. We were already paying too much for parking and now we pay 30% more. It alllll adds up.

Because I’m on a posting spree: over the weekend we found out that the overpriced sale of our apartment fell through. This was in part because we refused to move out earlier than our 6 month notice. So we stay put for now, but they raised our rent to an eye watering sum. So we kinda look too . . .

Yeah the price is what it is. All I can say is that at least in 2020 when I went looking for this place they were by FAR the cheapest Thanksgiving option for a whole bird that I could find. This was in part because they allow you to order a whole bird year round and don’t have a markup for T giving

I think this often, the gaps in my language are weird! Conversely, the first month I lived here my colleagues were surprised I already knew the word ‘Unterschrift’ and all I could think is, what do you think I’ve been doing all month!

Good for you! They lost my luggage back in 2018 and I had a big event where I was supposed to wear a floor length gown. I billed the whole thing and didn’t get any push back.
