Transportation funding in Oregon is broken and while this doesn’t fix it, it helps fill the gap until we can do the hard work of getting it right.

Thank you @koin6 for highlighting the work that @govtinakotek and the state legislature are doing to fill the gap by funding transportation with the special session coming up.

It’s critical to keep the 50/30/20 split and fund @oregondot to maintain our infrastructure.
National Night Out is one of the best nights of the year.

It’s my favorite to come into your neighborhood and connect with community.

Thank you to everyone who invited us into your neighborhood last night!
These partnerships are so important as we share across the country what’s working and what’s not. So many of our cities are all working on the same issues.
Last week I joined other mayors from across the country in Albuquerque with Mayors Innovation Project.

We had discussions on Rethinking Public Safety, Upholding Local Democracy, Strategies for Heat Resilience, Addressing Homelessness, and took tours to see the city and what they’re working on.
Welcome to Tigard Ava Roasteria ☕️
Thank you Bandana and Stacey from @aarporegon for meeting with me last week to talk about ways we can partner to make a stronger, more livable Tigard for all ages!
It’s important that we continue to work through our homeless crisis and provide steady reliable funding for our shelters. We have to work together through all levels of government to address this crisis.
Thank you @govtinakotek for coming to Tigard to sign House Bill 3644 into law.

Last week Council, PRAB, Senator Neron Misslin, and the Tualatin Riverkeepers paddled the Tualatin River from Cook Family Park.

It was a great way to be reminded of how awesome our backyard is and the importance of protecting it.

Thanks to Tualatin Riverkeepers for hosting us!
We’re so dependent on each other in the metro region, it’s important for Tigard to play its part understanding the importance of supporting projects that keep our community safely moving and connected.
Earlier this week alongside members of the R1ACT, I was able to tour the Abernathy Bridge replacement project.

It was fascinating to learn more about the construction of the bridge. We’re doing new things in Oregon with this project and I’m excited to see the progress and completion.
Congratulations on 70 years, Tigard Chamber of Commerce 🎉

I’m thankful for the strong partnership between the city and the Chamber. A strong economic business community means a stronger community for our residents to live, work, and play.
Please submit public comments in support of the RFFA Step 2 Allocation. You can submit public comments to [email protected] by 4pm on Wednesday.

Thanks to all of your comments and our advocacy, the North Dakota Fanno Creek Bridge Replacement funding is part of the package headed to JPACT on Thursday for approval! 🎉
Wishing you a Happy Independence Day, Tigard! 🇺🇸
To Youth Councilor Hellhake: we see you, we honor you, and we are so proud to have you serving our city. Keep showing up. We’ve got your back.
He has my full support—and he should have yours, too.
To those who are watching: we are not going backward. Tigard is a place where every young person should feel safe and celebrated for being exactly who they are.
Let me be absolutely clear: there is no place for transphobia in Tigard. Not in our schools. Not in our government. Not online. Not anywhere.
Asher’s appointment reflects the diversity, brilliance, and future of this city. He has already demonstrated thoughtfulness, leadership, and courage.
We want Tigard to be the kind of place where people feel safe growing up, and proud to come back to.
Since the announcement of Asher’s appointment, we’ve seen an incredible outpouring of support. Sadly, we’ve also seen hateful comments targeting his identity.
The Youth Councilor position is somewhat unique across the United States. Here in Tigard, we believe youth deserve a voice in shaping the future of their city—because many of our decisions today will impact their lives tomorrow.
Asher jumped right in and joined us at the dais last night. He impressed us throughout the application and interview process—coming thoroughly prepared and offering thoughtful, mature insight into how we can make Tigard a more inclusive place for all.
I’m excited to welcome Asher Hellhake (pronounced Hell-ick) as the newest Youth Councilor for the City of Tigard!
Perfect morning to start at the Tigard Farmers Market!
Thank you Tigard for coming out and supporting our Pride Parade and Festival today!

Welcome to Tigard - where everyone belongs 💚🌈
