Marvel clearly doesnt want Spider-Man to be their flagship character anymore, for one simple reason
They dont got the full rights, they fucked up X-Men and F4 for the same reason for a decade.

Yeah Conway created Tombstone in his spectacular run (which mainly explored his dynamic with Robbie) which was the run before JMD wrote Spectacular, and right after JMD finished his Spec run with Buscema Steven Grant wrote a tombstone story so its normal to confuse

Well, this has turned into quite a day for omnibus deliveries! This JUST arrived—after years and years of waiting—and I couldn't be happier. This SPEC SPIDEY run remains one of my all-time favorite gigs and collaborating with Sal Buscema, one of the absolute Marvel greats, was a joy in every way.
