Green is tied to nature, so it's commonly associated with growth and renewal. It's also associated with wealth.
Ive always associated Colin with the beauty and innocence of nature. Victor aligns with renewal, changed from his time in the woods.

Colin’s whole character is sort of built on the fact that he doesn’t percieve himself as beautiful (because of the physical elements of his curse), but wishes he was. So he holds pageant queens (like his mother and Lenore) in the highest regards and unfairly compares himself to them.

There's a whole webcomic about that haha...
He thinks his parents are selfish and crazy and doesn't want to be associated with them. He holds a lot of resentment for them and they've essentially become his enemies, but deep down he still cares about them even though he doesn't want to.
