I am drowning in work and I have a hearing tomorrow. I wasn't going to live-scream.

But this would have been the first election in 5 years that I didn't, and I realized I was just going to be refreshing results anyway. So...here we go.

It's election day. (Also, hi again!)

I've been very busy at my day job, but tonight we get our first sense of if Cleveland City Council will become more responsive and policy-focused. Plus, some contentious suburban races too.

Join me back here at ~7:30 for my usual live-screaming of the results.

Cleveland City Council leadership has not shown any meaningful desire to engage on the merits of their maps. I have numerous concerns with the lines, only a few of which are outlined here. 1/4

Well, those wards.

As I said on Channel 5 last night, transparency does not guarantee good results, so if Council leadership is serious that they are accepting feedback but not planning to implement any major changes, there are no protections for Clevelanders.

Ah, the guy who ran on an openly misogynist platform and often called the "Trump of Korea" declaring martial law because the opposition party wouldn't pass his budget through parliament? Surely this won't have major domestic consequences or international ripple effects.

Ten years. So much work that has happened, and so much more work that we must do.

Something happened to me last week that illustrates an important messaging principle:

The best way to persuade someone with differing views is NOT facts and statistics, but instead stories and narratives that speak to emotions and shared values. In short: Feelings don’t care about your facts. 1/21
