The Thing is one of my favourite movies and this short video has some fantastic images of the miniatures they used. A lot of attention is justifiably on the amazing practical effects by Rob Bottin and his team but a lot of the other models were also stunning.

43 years ago today, it was a great day for lovers of genre cinema.

They woke up and had the choice of going to see Ridley Scott's Blade Runner or John Carpenter's The Thing. 👌

None was a great success, quite the contrary, and the reviews were generally mixed, if not negative. 😂
I went through a period of being totally obsessed with Titan A.E.

Nice to know other people have actually also seen it.
