HC Luke Strand is one win shy of reaching 5️⃣ 0️⃣ as the head coach of @MinnStMHockey.

Mike Hastings reached 50 wins in 81 games, the fastest for an MSU coach in program history. A win tonight would give Strand his 50th in 84 games on the bench.

After yesterday, the @minnstmhockey.bsky.social PP% is at 35% (9-26), 4th best in the country.

It’s also been done impressively with seven different goal-scorers on the man advantage. Only six other teams in college hockey even have 7+ PP goals TOTAL.

MSU's 49 SOG tonight marks the 3rd-most recorded in regulation in a loss in program history. The xG was 7.5-3.1 favoring MSU.

The defense has some things to clean up tomorrow, but the offense deserved more than two goals and moved the puck really well.

The first career Maverick goals for Sawyer Scholl and Liam Watkins both looked like potential game-changers for @MinnStMHockey in a season-opening loss in Omaha. A game that was a lot closer than the final score indicates. Back at it tomorrow!

Not good enough. If you have 50 shots on goal and only score 2, you’re not going to win anything. Final score Broncos 2-3 Bulldogs. Well deserved by the Bulldogs, they took their chances when they had them, and were the better team. I’m going to try not to overreact, there’s a long season ahead.
