I initially thought that writing code using llms would make things boring, but after using that approach for a while, I don't think that's the case for me. It's not about what it can write for me, but instead, what I can focus my energy/time on.

I've been building a product only caring about making it an amazing product that I can be truly proud of. It's the first time I honestly do that and it's both a privilege and extremely hard because the bar is insanely high.

An interesting thing about AI as a tool for developers, is that to be efficient, it needs access to source code. This is particularly true for game engines. Unity is closed source while Unreal is (non-free) open source and most models are trained on UE's code.

Working really hard to hopefully help ship something by the end of the year or early next year. Can't wait for it to be public!

This is a magic Daiso product that hardens your cooking oil so you can throw it away super easily and cleanly!

Frustrating day, nothing special but I didn't achieve what I wanted and that's frustrating me big time 😔

Last night I was hacking on Blender and was trying to create a 3D mesh based on a data file. I know python but not the Blender APIs.
I turned to GPT and while v3.5 wasn't really useful, v4 made a huge difference & definitely delivered (after some back and forth and tweaking).
Great use case!

Now that I'm writing C++ full time, I'm going to be so buffed! Every time I wait while my code compiles, I do reps. Summer body, here I come!

My son tested positive for COVID, we managed to avoid it until now so we aren't quite prepared. He's vaccinated and has been running a low grade fever but based on how much he wants to play video games, he is fine.
Now the goal is to try to not contaminate others 😬

I wrote code before lunch that I was happy with... but once I got back to my desk I realized that I had missed something important that would become an issue down the line... 😔

Yesterday, I jumped back in image generation (Stable Diffusion). In 3 months, the community moved models from checkpoints to Lora and then to diffusers 😱
Controlnet lets you copy poses, facial features, composition/edges and more.
Overall things are more stable and flexible (mix models on the fly).

Fyi, Bluesky has a web app! It's https://staging.bsky.app. For an MVP it works great and is pretty functional.

Kudos to the Bluesky team!

Reading about the AT protocol and DID, they seem to solve a lot of my problems I saw with Mastodon. Exciting times

I hear people complain about their (tech) jobs daily. I get it, it's not easy, especially as you get more and more responsibilities.
It does make me feel a bit guilty about working on something I am absolutely passionate about without all the office drama & pain 💀
