We could certainly wish for that. Since it wasn’t in their election manifesto, then in theory the Lords could block it - but if it’s been through a national commission, that would presumably largely disarm that argument.

It could happen in this Parliament if there’s a will to do it.

THIS!!!!

The country is split and fighting itself.
Governments ruling with minority support only add fuel to that discontent.

The world has moved on, Labour policy needs to catch up!

If Reform sweeps to power with a 30% vote share we only have ourselves to blame.

Talk is cheap, action now!

🌹 Labour's official policy recognises that First Past the Post is "flawed" and driving "distrust & alienation" in politics

⚠️ Now, multi-party politics is colliding with a 2-party system - and inaction is becoming untenable

🎯 We need a National Commission for Electoral Reform

Does Labour want electoral reform?
Shadow leader of the Commons, Lucy Powell, has said she is open to "conversations" over changing the voting system.

So many wild claims about Durham Pride funding recently. Instead of folk at DCC announcing they're defunding Pride to attempt to look like superstars to their supporters, let's praise the actual work of Durham Pride & ensure they're supported to continue. After all this is more than just an event.
