I just got back from a weekend trip to Spokane to see Garbage. I was wondering how political Shirley Manson was going to get, and she answered that with her first words from stage, “Happy No Kings Day motherfuckers!”

Deb and I just got back from a weekend trip to Spokane to see Garbage. I was wondering how political Shirley Manson was going to get, and she answered that with her first words from stage, “Happy No Kings Day motherfuckers!” She went on to rant about Trump, Republicans expecting women to shut up and pop out babies, and how difficult it was for creative non-pop musicians who write their own songs and play their own instruments to make a living in today’s fucked up music business. That last statement made me glad I am no longer a band manager and agent.

In all, it was one-part political rally and three-parts awesome rock ‘n’ roll concert. The Knitting Factory was packed, and one hundred percent of the audience was with Shirley and the band on every political point. If this likely final Garbage headline tour comes anywhere near you, don’t miss it. They’re still one of the best fucking bands on the planet.

I used to do ALT text all the time. I stopped doing it when I saw little evidence anyone paid attention to it. In the future I will try to use it, if it doesn't distract from the beauty of the photo.
