The waiting pushes people into a survival state, which deepens depression and anxiety responses
Losing support isn’t an inconvenience.

It’s a shock to the system.

One reassessment.
One budget cut.

And suddenly the care, equipment, or access you relied on is gone with no warning, no transition, no plan.

You’re left scrambling to stay safe.

Given how corrupt FIFA is known to be I doubt it'll happen, but it does go without saying the world cup should be moved to a different host nation or cancelled until a new nation can be prepared.

What I wish US folks would do is abolish the idea that their politicians need such levels of security. ICE reportedly is to provide security to US 'diplomats'. Well, those people are just people. A country's leader shouldn't need a motorcade or armed goons. Not if they are of the people.

My one issue with the fun and engaging @jetlagthegame.bsky.social latest series - starting the game in London was a poor production choice. Manchester would've opened up a bigger chance of seeing episodes outside of England as it's closer to the geographic centre of the UKs four nations.

15 years ago, with writers far more talented than I, a book was created and published. Reading it on the train today...I'm so very proud of this little book wot I published. I'm also so very glad that these poets allowed my work to be seen alongside their skilled work.
