Have you heard of “The Populist Playbook?”

A few years ago, I posted what I still consider one of my most important messages.

It was about “The Populist Playbook” that I’ve watched play out often over my 33+ years of city planning.

Since then, it’s only gotten worse.

Do the steps sound familiar?

He even bragged about it.
Hundreds of thousands of people, dead because of a decision made by the world's richest man
One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc

Two pillars prevent Russian assault on Euro-Atlantic territory: NATO unity and Ukraine's fight.
If either erodes, 'the risk of armed confrontation between Russia and Europe would increase considerably.'

A typical European car is parked 92% of the time. It spends 1/5th of its driving time looking for parking. Its 5 seats only move 1.5 people. 86% of its fuel never reaches the wheels, and most of the energy that does, moves the car, not the people.

Sound efficient?

I really really hope no one in southern Jamaica is less than, say, five meters above sea level. This is an extreme weather event. If there had been a category six, it would have been a category six.

901 mb is... low. Basically 10% of the atmosphere gone, or what is usually the pressure one kilometer above sea level.

The amount is meaningless — less than one day of salary. But the principle is important: once the armed services are paid by the oligarchs, they become a private militia, and we no longer have a country.
