It's a reporting restriction. Once someone has been arrested and likely to be charged with an offence, UK reporting restrictions mean journalists can't imply guilt, otherwise it undermines court proceedings. That's why they use 'allegedly' it covers them against potential contempt of court.

If we're to be better at sustainable development we must recognise this is not just about climate action, but biodiversity protection too. Also, we must stop throwing it to individuals to make change. The #BuiltEnvironment must fundamentally change its practices to reduce emissions & impact. #LREF25

#InclusiveGrowth is an oxymoron, & #AI is in the hands of a powerful few... not setting us up for shared prosperity which would lead to better outcomes for people, place & planet.
We need to talk about SMEs... not yet heard.

If it has been clearly medically researched that #sex isn't #binary, that there are a number of biological and cultural factors that determine gender what evidence did the UK Supreme #Court use in its #judgment?

If other countries have more assignment choices than simply male and female, does that make those countries and cultures wrong? India, Germany, Iceland, Kenya... Hm. That would be very neo-colonial thinking.

To understand more about the background to the factors that determine biological sex, please check out Scientific American 's publications on this from 2017 and 2018.

Thirty-eight of 43 experts cut last month from the boards that review the science and research that happens in laboratories at the National Institutes of Health are female, Black or Hispanic, according to an analysis by the chairs of a dozen of the boards.

Women, minorities fired in purge of NIH science review boards

Scientists, with expertise in fields that include mental health, cancer and infectious disease, typically serve five-year terms and were not given a reason for their dismissal.

A reminder in the UK, the body of water between the English south coast & north France is called the 'English Channel', but 'La Manche' in France, because it looks like a sleeve.

I'd pay this less attention to 47s renaming & keep an eye on the reasons for him doing it.
