In today's @theglobeandmail.com I wrote about publishing a book about the Israel-Gaza war as it still rages - killing thousands of Palestinians, hostages still in captivity, Gaza in pieces, and Israelis marching in the street calling for an end to it.

What a joy to contribute to this @theglobeandmail.com 101 Canadian albums feature, even if I am slightly gutted that some of my picks didn't make it (eg. Tom Cochrane's Mad Mad World). Have a listen to some great Canadian music. We could all use it these days.

It is killing me that in this economy, I have to pay the @cityofvancouver.bsky.social $250 for forgetting to tell them on time (I was a few days late) that I live in my (tiny, heavily mortgaged) home and that it is not indeed empty. My bad, but come on!
This thread is almost as depressing as this game
Guess we’re free to make Friday night plans.
Same. I almost turned it off after that horrible first period. But then I would have had to focus on the actual news, which is much, much worse …
I prefer it when my disasters lack actual consequences. And so I watch sports.
Watching this game is bad for my health.
