Aside from watching old samurai shit all I've done today is play Prime 4.
I must be an outlier Metroid fan:
I don't mind the marine NPCs, I adore the motorbike, and zooming around the desert is relaxing.
Wish they'd done a big art book like for Dread, because visually this shit is godlike.

When I was 16/17 and earning cash for the first time i went through a whole phase where after paying board to my dad all my cash went on cigarettes and whatever samurai dvds I could get. Unemployment came and so many got sold. So it's been nice finally getting to rewatch faves like Harakiri

Just watched Sword of Doom, not seen it for 20 years.
Nakadi rules so hard in this. If you're playing a barely emotional amoral murderer, you gotta have a good variety of blank stares and body language, and the man nailed it.
Also my boy Toshiro Mifune fucks up like 30 idiots at once, so it's peak.

Finished the standalone First Law books. 5 stars across the board. Asking me to pick a favourite between Best Served Cold, The Heroes, Red Country is impossible. The short story collection Sharp Ends was also god tier.
