Only 5% of the NHS budget goes to prevention. To tackle rising costs and widening inequalities we must harness social investment to pump-prime a prevention-first agenda. Here’s my new brief with @james-wecic.bsky.social @livuniheseltine.bsky.social Read here 👉 www.liverpool.ac.uk/media/livacu...
Had an amazing time at the Liverpool Santa Dash with 11,000 runners! A proper carnival of red and blue Santas, Christmas tunes, laughter and joy. The ultimate wellbeing boost - and the best way to start the festive season. Nowhere does it quite like Liverpool. 🎅✨

Energised to be back on the road, listening to people across our communities share their hopes, ideas, and visions for the future as we shape plans for the Liverpool City Region Imaginarium. We’ll be coming to a place near you very soon! 🙌
Kicked off our Do Dream You Have a Dream? roadshows - part of the LCR Imaginarium - at Honey Pot Café in Halton today.
Residents shared hopes for comfortable lives, more green and community spaces, affordable homes, and kinder neighbourhoods.
A great start - more stops across the region soon. ✨

ICYMI: the two-child benefit limit is the single biggest driver of child poverty in the UK, pushing hundreds of families into hardship EVERY DAY.

Fully removing it would lift 470,000 children out of severe hardship. It's the moral thing to do.

There’s something invigorating about a blustery walk along Liverpool’s promenade - good for both body and mind.

"We can have democracy in this country, or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but we can't have both." –Justice Louis Brandeis

Words spoken many years ago that are just as relevant today.

We must continue the fight to get big money out of politics.

For a green transition to succeed, climate commitments must be central to economic policy.

In our paper launching at #COP30, we argue that mission-oriented approaches to country platforms don’t just crowd in capital, but align finance & policy towards climate goals.

Tesla’s profit fell 37% in the third quarter. It's been in the process of laying off 14,000 workers. It had more cars impacted by recalls than any other brand in 2024.

Yet Elon Musk just got a pay package worth $1 trillion.

American capitalism is off the rails.

Had an incredible time at the #MakingMoreHealth Conference in Ingelheim sharing the power of imagination to drive ideas to impact. We visualised a better healthcare future - and pledged one action to make it real. What we visualise, we act on. #HealthEquity #innovation @ashoka.org
