Yeah, Elric really sold me on Venom. It was like watching an amalgamation of the generic slasher films that characters within a slasher film are watching...but not in an ironic and self-aware Final Girls kind of way. Great marathon.

I just watched Robert Patrick NAIL a depiction of a sincere, believable, and actually heroic superhero in a way that I don't even think a Superman or Captain America have ever managed as well on screen, in the space of a few minutes and a handful of lines. Talk about didn't see that coming.

It's dumb & edgy but at least Zombie isn't outright trying to sign his name to John Carpenter's homework. There are far worse sequels and reboots of the big name franchises. I'd rather sit thru the 2 Zombie Halloweens on a loop for a week than have to watch the Elm Street redux ever again.
