According to Google, 5 years since this trip to Songkhla in southern Thailand.

Had absolutely no expectations before going, but it's a stunning little place - all old buildings, street art, natural scenery and amazing food.

I looooved durian when we lived in Thailand, but it does honk a fair bit admittedly.

Banned from many public places like subways and office buildings.

In my experience birds are almost always sparrows or pigeons of some kind.

Occasionally a crow but often that's just 4 sparrows in disguise.

As a kid I was an enthusiastic member of the Young Ornithologists Club in the UK so crane migration season over Berlin is no joke a highlight of my year.

Regular yeast, but it's a Ken Forkish recipe so only a little bit of yeast and a long rise.

Result is vaguely similar to me at least, and one less thing to keep alive!

I used to bake quite a lot of bread, but don't often have time any more.

Yesterday I tried just dumping all the bread ingredients in a stand mixer and letting it do the work.

Turns out the KitchenAid took a fraction of the effort and did a better kneading job than I ever did 😂

I'm quite fortunate at the moment because when I ask her what she wants to do on a weekend, her two answers are 'football' or 'bake a cake', and I can fully get behind those activities 😀
