Since I'm most likely taking tomorrow off, here's my riding stats. Didn't quite hit my 12,000 km goal, but I'm pretty pleased with the results considering I spent most of the spring recovering from colon cancer. On to bigger and better in 2026!

Festive 500 done and dusted. Wanted to do some of it outdoors this year, but we had a sloppy, cold week in Toronto and I'm a wimp.

After seeing the Pluribus discourse, I’m convinced Marvel movies have done more damage to media literacy than TikTok and AI slop combined.

Something in my brain broke and now whenever I see the Toronto Raptors superfan/realtor/plastic surgery enthusiast named McDadi sitting courtside, I go "oh, there's Mamdami." Even though I know I'm about to make the mistake, I call him by the wrong name every time.

My nomination for the word that needs to be left in 2025: enshittification. It's a phrase dull scolds pull out to feel clever while refusing to think through incentives, constraints, and second-order effects. It's lazy. Do better, people.

I know posting your Spotify Wrapped is lame, but I worked hard at this.

Every time I go back to the US, I'm struck by just how much more STUFF there is. Why does Publix have 200 varieties of breakfast cereal now? Why do I pass four Home Depots during a 15 minute drive through suburban sprawl? Why does everyone have a Christmas garage door wrap? It's too much.

Anyone who doesn't love Jarrett Allen is my enemy.
Jarrett Allen hosted his annual Math and Thanksgiving event, where he hooks up 25 families with groceries and budgeting lessons

I thought the first 10 minutes of Pluribus were great before Apple TV crashed.

The NBA League Pass app on Apple TV suck ass for the first two months of every season. I don't understand how or why so many bugs get introduced during the offseason. Currently watching Cavs/Bucks in 260p like it's 2005.

There has not been one single good Sora video yet. They are uniformly boring.

I guess this is a signal I'm working on the right thing (an AI career coach / journalling tool): I spent hours this morning making the logo at the top of the page change color based on the sky at that time of day, but didn't bother reading the journal prompt for today.

Is this a new Apple dark pattern? On Mac OS 26, I've got a persistent badge saying "1 update" on the System Settings menu item, but there is no update, it's just an ad to subscribe to AppleCare+ on my new phone. Kind of lame!

The iPhone Air makes me happy in the exact same way the original MacBook Air did. It's just so perfect.

Finally got all the way through Infinite Jest this summer (at least five tries since 1996), and it's shocking how prescient DFW was. The loneliness, the addiction, even "The Entertainment", it all feels just SO 2025. Glad I saved it for nearly 30 years.

At the end of the ZIRP era, I reached a point where I felt most corporate DEI initiatives had become a little too performative without any real impact. But after seeing how some leaders are acting now that there's been a "correction", I say fuck it. Bring on Woke 2.0.
