Beautiful light over Lake Geneva this morning as I waved goodbye to Switzerland. 🇨🇭
Interesting read. I agonised describing some encounters I had on the Isle of Sky in my book, especially one in a cafe that wasn't exactly a 5-star review. However, I probably don't have to worry as it's unlikely anyone I met will ever actually read it 🤪 and most people I met were overwhelming kind.
A typical no stress 5-minute train change onto adjacent platform at Renens Station, Switzerland. Next stop, Geneva. They make it look so easy.
Final day 9 of my Tour of Monte Rosa. Today, we completed this epic Alpine circuit walking from Grächen back to Saas Grund from where we set off.
Morning from the Alps! Final day (9) of my Tour of Monte Rosa from Grächen back to Saas Grund traversing the Höhenweg.
My Tour of Monte Rosa, day 8 of 9: Täsch to the beautiful village of Grächen.
Tour of Monte Rosa day 7: Zermatt to Tasch via Lake Stellisee.
Crossing the Theodule Glacier this morning with stunning mountain views!
(Tour of Monte Rosa, Day 6)

Morning view on day 6 of my Tour of Monte Rosa #Matterhorn
Day 5 of 9 of my Tour of Monte Rosa. Resy to the Matterhorn and our highest hut at 10,876 ft (Rifugio Teodulo). 11 miles, 5084 ft ascent.
Morning view in the Italian Alps
Day 4 of my Tour of Monte Rosa (Gabiet to Resy). An easier hike today of 10 miles and 3181ft ascent. So also enjoyed coffee and apple pie on route and a swim in an icy tarn.
A few pics from Day 3 of my Tour of Monte Rosa. Favourite day so far, Alangna to Gabiet (8.7 miles, massive 5904ft ascent). Saw Buzzard, Ibex and Marmots.
Stunning view from Rifugio Pastore this morning. #TourofMonteRosa
A few pics from Day 1 of my Tour of Monte Rosa trip from Saas Grund to Macugnaga (9.4 miles, 2460 ft ascent). Beautiful misty mountains and alpine flowers. Very wet in the afternoon!
Just rolled into Switzerland 🇨🇭! And the sun is shining after a very wet Paris.
Looks beautiful. I'll be there next week! :))
Thanks for the tips, I'll see if can get my work finished in time to do some long hikes before I go. Maybe I'll plan that in next time :)
Thanks for the tips, I'll find some boulders or tree trunks on my next run :)
I'm training to hike the Tour of Monte Rosa later in July. Rather than just run further, I'm trying hill repeats. My biggest local hill is only 120 feet, so I started with x4 reps, now up to x6. Doing some ground exercises at top of each rep. Any other ideas to build strength outside?
Similar thing happened to me last year. It was like no one had ever asked him before and all ended well.
The butterflies are back :) 🦋

Took me wayyy too long to discover the existence of this unroller.

Not so many longer "technical" threads here, which I miss, but it's great this tool exists.
