Recovering baseball blogger. Used to write about baseball at USS Mariner (mostly), Baseball Prospectus (rarely), and probably a few places I’ve forgotten. Love music, Seattle sports, cooking.

Oh man, sorry to hear that Dan. Was this Justinian?
NOW we’re talking. I won’t object to a little light rigging so long as Mr. Ridnour is present and the scale of the rigging remains light and playful.
This is true. And as someone from Tacoma, it makes me happy.

Here's my recap of Game 7, or at least, my recap of 15 seconds of Game 7. It can give out from under you at any moment.

Unprecedented, really. Just glad this weird Bluesky community exists, even if we don’t quite know what to DO.
That’s where I’m at. I can’t frame or analogize or compare or contrast or deflect or diminish the pain right now, so it’s gonna have to just sit there for a while.
But I don’t know. You’d expect teams would be able to coach situational awareness?
Oh, sure. I was just responding to Matt’s question: why aren’t there 99%-100% touchbacks? That’s the incentive I was talking about. You’re talking about situation-specific incentives for teams, and yes, they keep screwing them up. I assume this is due to the wholesale changes the past two years?
The new rules are designed to discourage this. Kickers legs are so good that no one ever returned a kick, so they penalize kicking teams for un-returnable kicks (giving possession at 35 for a touchback).
Weirdest - maybe grossest - easy Seahawks win I can remember. Bizarre, but also confidence-inspiring?
Oh man, thank you for saying that. I don’t know how many people on here remember the history. They were lean, lean years. It is always heartening to know a community really was there, on the other side of the screen.
As a Seattle fan, I completely agree with this.
Nervous enough that vomiting feels like it could happen pretty quickly, but enjoying the game thus far. Love this from Julio/Cal.
Let’s not be too hasty here. Let Zips cook.
Always cool to get a nice capture with a cell phone. Thanks, Daryll!!
Hmm, say more about why this is so. I see the situation very differently. And if we see things so differently, then it is possible that my crops may fail, for reasons that confound me but are known to you. Jon: Will my crops fail? Does Ohtani suck somehow? Am I out of “touch”?
Hmmm. Lots of good candidates, I think. Kind of a no-wrong-answers kind of deal. Reasonable minds, etc.
As an M’s fan, I can confirm that this fact is indeed concerning.
Am very jealous right now. Saw that inning in the pub, and there was a lot of stranger hugs/high fives. Can’t imagine the vibe in the stadium.
Yes. The Mariners. The *Mariners*
