Finished up my first week of Think Tank on Sunday! We jumped into Maya for some organic modeling - a tutorial elephant, and two other animals of our choosing.

Gotta say: pretty proud of the dog, but whew lad, that cow. Poor Bessie has so much non-planar geo, she's gonna be mooing in italics.

This is what worries me, tbh. I've been spending more time in meatspace these past few months and the only anti-AI people I've met IRL have been in the arts. Everyone else just seems either not to care or is actively using it. Or, even worse, they're against AI only when it affects their job. 😐

As an aside to the drama, I never understood why Stoller was lumped in with the rest of those chucklefucks. Not to say his critiques aren't sometimes needlessly narrow, but he's kind of the only one loudly beating the anti-monopoly drum, which I personally find valuable.

Am I missing something?

Bananas and mayonnaise. Who knew.

Took a break from social media because I needed to get off Mr. Bones' Wild Ride for a bit, but I'm back in the saddle.

I'll be traveling back home to Canada soon, and my phobia of flying is already at a solid 11 - my heartrate has been stuck at 120+bpm for three days. Been trying to calm myself by watching livestreams of successful flights landing at LAX, but no dice.

I wish I could enjoy travel. This sucks, man. 🥲

Honestly, I didn’t have nearly the headaches learning Maya. Maya helpfully has menu sets, so at the very least I never have to touch a rigging button ever again.

Because I am an *exceptionally normal and neurotypical* person, I've been occasionally chipping away a little re-creation of Disneyland's Star Trader in Planet Coaster 2. Can't wait to set up all the little shelves and registers with guests pouring through the store after getting off a ride lmao.

The frustration persists, but Mike Pav is quelling my ZBrush panic attacks. Managed plop out a soft serve cone, despite the menus-within-menus-within-menus workflow driving me quite literally insane.
