Something I noticed in Edmonton are the hilarious and weirdly detailed pictogram signs everywhere. From the cyclist eating shit on the LRT crossing to the trespassing skateboarder along with an isometric button presser and a businessman with tie and all. They genuinely make me laugh.

As much as I'd like to believe the UN is worth anything, their strongly worded letters don't do a whole lot when the most powerful countries in the world just tell them to kick rocks. This is no United Earth organization. You need an organization with actual consequences to achieve anything.
The U.N. is on the verge of “imminent financial collapse,” in large part due to the failure of member states to pay their mandatory dues, its secretary general said.

The United States owes the most: nearly $2.2 billion, according to an official.

This whack job, Mitch, is a racist, conspiracy nut who shouldn't be getting the light of day from anyone, let alone our dipshit premier. Birds of a feather flock together. These types should be laughed out of the room for their braindead takes and shipped stateside already.

"Pick three random people from your hometown. And imagine them — like the Beverly Hillbillies going to the US, and talking to these guys, as if there could be any consequence come out of that. It makes me laugh. It literally makes me laugh." @arnokopecky.bsky.social speaks with Mitch Sylvestre.

I swear, if Edmonton City Council caves to these NIMBY shits and waters down their zoning reforms it will haunt them for decades. You will have just cracked the door open for them to keep destroying what the rest of Canada needs to be adopting right now. Don't cave @andrewknack.bsky.social

Got an ad for these clowns on Insta. They claim to be "non-partisan" with all their stats from The Fraser Institute (a right wing, conservative think-tank). Totally non-partisan 😂 Why these folks are allowed to just lie is beyond me. Identifying real problems with the wrong solutions.

Pretty fresh for so many to bitch and moan in the comments on every single city social media about the lack of snow clearing and then proceed to do this, lmfao Don't complain about residential clearing if you can't even be bothered to move your goddamn hunk of metal for a couple days.

I'm about to create a "Snow Clearing Budget" graphic soon that people can use to shut the dummies up in Edmonton. I'm so sick of people lying and saying we have less roadway than other cities and should be able to make due with $67 million only as everyone else spends $100 million+.

I love how the US will do the same type of thing and the NY Times sleeps but as soon as China does it it becomes "look at the coordination" as if the Chinese are fucking idiots or something. The sinophobia is off the charts.
NYT: China quietly mobilized thousands of fishing boats twice in recent weeks to form massive floating barriers of at least 200 miles long, showing a new level of coordination that could give Beijing more ways to impose control in contested seas.

The AI slop ads are absolutely unhinged on Instagram these days. This "guy" is a "comedian" but it's all just super disgusting and offensive AI slop. No comments allowed on any post, just pure, unadulterated trash. We are in a dark timeline right now.

Watching conservatives in Canada have a sinophobic meltdown over Carney is genuinely hilarious. I don't even like Carney but this is one of his first good moves. The screeching about Chinese EVs being spy machines is hysterical with Tesla's roaming everywhere already.

My bigot brother actually reposted this very post and is sympathetic to ICE and thinks the "US hate is out of control". This is pure brainrot and it makes me sick knowing he turned into such a fucking loser. The right wing rabbit hole is very real and can take anyone you know with it.
protestors have painted what appears to be a tunnel on the side of the mountain, causing ICE agents to run into the mountain at full speed.

disgusting.

"What's up?" @bsky.app what's up is you should stop wasting time with "features" like this and maybe work on an edit button for starters. What are you trying to be, that hell site Facebook or something? The big blue post button isn't obvious enough for people? wtf?

You can just go on the internet and lie! 😮 *shocked Pikachu face* This diatribe comes courtesy of another fine Edmontonian just vibin' and pissin' in the wind about the snow clearing budget. Didn't know Nicaragua had snow, news to me!

Budget literacy amongst the Edmonton population is absolutely in the toilet judging by the comments on the city's posts about anything. Bike lanes and Explore Edmonton being blamed for a low snow clearing budget 🤦 If anything, the city should spend some money educating these people.

I know RAM prices are out of control, but if you haven't built a newish rig, you need to immediately before these assholes put us over a barrel completely! They'll monetize anything and everything at this point. They're completely out of control and no one is going to stop them seemingly.

The amount of complaining from carbrains in Edmonton about snow clearing is ludicrous. You want 12,000km+ of road cleared timely, it's going to cost at least $120 million and up. It's $67 million currently. Your taxes are going to be through the roof which they'd then bitch about 🤦

@andrewknack.bsky.social maybe have your police/"peace" officers take some sensitivity training so I don't have to listen them at MacEwan talking about the homeless like they're subhuman trash. And having 10 of them standing around made me, the big bearded white guy, nervous.

NEW POST

While cities across North America struggle with housing shortages, Edmonton is proving that zoning reform works.

In 2025, for the first time in history, the number of homes permitted in 5-8 unit rowhomes surpassed detached homes. 🧵

2025: The year Edmonton built the missing middle – Jacob Dawang
Edmonton’s zoning reform is working. In 2025, newly legalized eight-home rowhomes drove a record increase in homebuilding, achieved by redeveloping only 0.39% of properties in mature neighbourhoods.

I seriously don't understand why Jesse Watson doesn't just leave Edmonton, he clearly hates this city and is constantly rage baiting the dolts on Insta/FB. He's always twisting the truth or flat out lying 🤥 The comments are full of anecdotes and him going "🤔🤯😔 I agree". Absolute moron. #yeg

My gripe with the info boards for the LRT in Edmonton is when it doesn't list the actual next time but a few minutes later fixes itself. The middle boards (if there's 3) should always display the upcoming departures! Would be nice to have entrance signs as well. #ets #yeg @etriders.bsky.social

The fact that people like this live among us in Edmonton and all big cities is genuinely disturbing. This idiot is completely detached from reality and he has children! The city should just turn FB comments off permanently. No one needs to see this drivel. @yegbike.bsky.social #yeg #yegbike

Was just looking up Edmonton's bylaw ticket amounts and Parking in a No Parking Zone is $100 but Jaywalking or Riding a Bike on a Sidewalk are $250. I'm sorry, what!?!?! @andrewknack.bsky.social any thoughts about maybe changing some of these as that's absolutely unbalanced and absurd! #yeg #bylaw

TW: Islamophobia and racism

2025 was overall a good year for me but watching my younger brother descend into pure bigotry and racism was truly surreal. He's reposted racist AI slop, Caryma the "journalist", Nazi Stonetoss, and right wing bigot Sellner among tons of other garbage. I'm truly baffled.
