Yes! Before I became too disabled to work, I happily paid for those who couldn't afford to go out with me, donated my time to shelters, my back & truck to moving others in need, and did not begrudge paying taxes for all sorts of things I didn't personally need/use. It's part of our Social Contact.

True, sadly. The Religious Right and The Heritage Foundation have been working on this for fifty years. I keep forgetting how vile a vast swath of Americans are. I suppose I've lived in areas where this isn't really the case, quite so much. Thanks for reminding me of something I keep ignoring.

The conversation is so old, that the $15 an hour minimum wage is outdated. Last year, to make enough to live on, it would need to be around $24 an hour. As of now, you won't be afford to cook anything with eggs at home, with that. Later in the year, when there's no fresh produce? Real hunger.

Absolutely. The thing is, AirBnB started out for a fun way for people to make ends meet. As usual, corporations and businesses have ruined it. They did the same to Etsy. If a person or company sells on Amazon because it's the largest marketplace, Amazon will copy their product & sell for less.

It's legal to pay disabled people less than the $7.25 minimum wage in 37 States: A lot of people can't afford healthcare or food, however many hours & jobs they work. Sweeping cuts by Musk ($8 Million a day in Government subsidies/contracts) mean people are being laid off with no warning. "MAGA"

and I hate that I can't now.

My late father referred to my being on SSDI as "sucking off the tit of society." Even now, that hurts. It's just more to carry, really, in a heart and mind that already feels so much guilt, shame and self-loathing.
