#yousoundfamiliar This SME was really interesting. At so many different points I found myself frustrated with Chat GPT and also surprised. For example, Chat GPT seemed to hold on to one specific detail. It kept asking about the same thing over and over again until I asked it to stop.

#SMEno1fav GPT: Ah, understood—no more coats, though the echoes of red and wind are still brushing against the edges of this conversation. Then tell me: in a room you used to occupy, perhaps one half-forgotten or slightly misremembered

#realityhunger "Memory: the past rewritten in the direction of feeling." This quote explains how we might fully remember a childhood memory as real only to ask our parents and find out that it was entirely made up by our subconscious.

#realityhunger some of the writing in this page is starkingly different to the writing in previous chapters. it almost gives the impression that the author loses his mind when tryingt i explajn what reality is.

#realityhunger "Soul is the music people understand." I originally read soul as song. It made sense bc songs are just noise that is pleasant decipherable. But soul, doesnt really make sense. What does the author mean here? usually souls are hard to understand. can u even define what soul means?

#realityhunger The first sentence in this chapter ties in well to the title "reality." I think most people, myself included, believe that reality is the fact. It is a point of reference from which we determine what is real and what is fictional, and so we must have absolute faith in it.

#realityhunger I find it interesting that this novel does actually mantain a narrative on the nature of art and media. The narrative held by this book contradicts this statement.

#realityhunger chapter b, item 41: the dewey decimal system from last week is mentioned!
February 15, 2026 at 8:57 PM
#realityhunger "that tightrope walk along the margin between the newspaper report and the poetic vision." sometimes writing these tweets feels like walking the tightrope. do you see the poetic vision?
February 15, 2026 at 8:55 PM
#realityhunger "I love fools' experiments; I'm always making them." I wonder if the author is reffering to this book, and its interesting compostional choices.
February 15, 2026 at 8:51 PM
#realityhunger I find it interesting how the author choses to use bullet points sometimes to indicate a new thought, and sometimes just to give an example of a previous point like in item 23. Also, he kind of writes like Plutarch.
February 15, 2026 at 8:49 PM
#realityhunger The commentary on Plutarch's "Sayings by Spartan Women," reminds me of Shields's earlier comment on the new movement towards media which is unedited and random. The only thing is, Shields decribes this as a current movement. It appears to be an older tradition than he describes.
February 15, 2026 at 8:47 PM
#realityhunger Thucydides's confession is particularly interesting. How does he make sure that he fully understood the "train of thought" each person had, at least whitout psychic powers? What makes him sure that he fully accounted for the context begind each speech?
February 15, 2026 at 8:43 PM
#realityhunger "There's nothing you can do say that hasn't been said before." I bet no one has ever the sentence: I filled my ink cartridges with different sauces so my printer could creat digestable media.
February 15, 2026 at 8:38 PM
#realityhunger "I need say nothing, only exhibit." this just seems like a fancier way of saying: actions speak louder than words.
February 15, 2026 at 8:35 PM
#realityhunger "We commonly do not remember that it is, after all, aleays the first person that is speaking." Such an interesting take, and it kind of makes sense. Even when writers choose the 2nd/3rd person perspectives, their personal life experiences and opinions still seep into the narrative.
February 15, 2026 at 8:32 PM
#realityhunger this incredibly long sentence reminds me of the emergence of people who livestream unedited unfiltered raw content. Shields almost seems to be describing this practice with every word.

#primarytakeaway my primary takeaway from this video is that SME #1 and my experience with the GPT interview will depend heavily on what i feed GPT. gpt will act as a reflective mirror to the prompts

#joesopinion joe thinks that ai is a great tool for co-thinking and co-creating. this is because ai can scour the internet for a lot of informationa nd can present this information to you depending on how YOU ask for this informatiom to be presented. if you want to be surprised, ai can do that.

#helpfulassistant the helpful assistant prompt helps us because it will give us very "skimmed over" responses. this might provide us with anit-environments and surprising outcomes that are not ordinary or thoroughly thought out
February 9, 2026 at 4:06 AM
#joeandashley i find this really scary but also very cool. it makes me think about how ai learns a lot of information from its interactions with us. the more we use it, the smarter and more accurate it becomes even though we dont really understand how
February 9, 2026 at 4:04 AM
#joeandashley I have also used this pleading tactic where i told ai that it is an expert or that it only has one chance to get an answer right. this has always lead to more accurate answers. i think its very important to remember that ai is trained by humans; this changes my approach towards ai
February 9, 2026 at 4:02 AM
#joeandashley I thought it was really interesting how joe
mentioned that this ai summary might contradict the links right below it. i have definitely found this to be true myself, but it can be useful if you want to learn about misconceptions or outdated beliefs that were once widespread.

#atmospherestudy is this supposed to be an ad for this sundae? because it is not very effective
February 9, 2026 at 3:50 AM
#atmospherestudy the audio is fragmenting my perception of the sundae. the switch from a quiet beach to a bustling restaurant builds uo the suspense to the sundae coming out, it makes me just as excited as the narrator for the sundae.
