After years shipping products for others, I'm chasing my own dream in the indie/solopreneur world.
Connecting with fellow makers to learn and share the journey.

Product-minded web/app developer.
Do you have enough traffic to reach high confidence in a meaningfully short time? Would love to read about the results πŸ“ˆ

Left one. Straight to the value (convert some files). Getting the app is useful for repeat/heavy usage. Also (personal view) I feel like those social trust widgets to be on every other site as well, maybe further down the page with real testimonials than just profile pictures?

I still have hope that sooner or later they will realize that boring is better πŸ’›

Attended a web dev meetup today and a discussion around the problems of big frameworks evolved. Most of the group thought the next shiny framework will solve all of the pain for good. They later admitted they had the same hope in the past .. multiple times .. and until noe always got disappointed.
Probably the best part of it: no breaking changes -- ever!
Just finished upgrading a client project we haven't touched for two years. It uses webpack and React πŸ™ˆ Wouldn't have to do that if we chose boring tech back then. Now, finally, I can start implementing the new features.
I really like the web platform. Just good old HTML, CSS, and bits of JavaScript. No fancy React, Angular or anything else. Modern browsers are so capable πŸ’›

Wow, it's come a long way since I last used it 🀩

Nice! What editor component are you using?

While I'm currently not a potential customer of your tool, I can see the value such a tool could provide for the right people. What are the biggest obstacles you see in front of you?

I ran the whole operation in one big sheet that calculated everything for me; including taxes and social security payments. Very specific to my use case. Nothing I would have gotten from any SaaS.

I stopped being a freelancer a few years ago and fortunately I only sent an invoice every 1-2 months for half/full projects.
November 17, 2025 at 6:30 PM
F*ck, my time as a freelancer obviously wasn't successful enough to have ever considered a tool like this. Did everything in Google sheets. But I can see how it gets painful when you send more than a handful of invoices every month. Would vote for (2), as I never liked losing a share of income πŸ˜‰

But yes, from what the same friends have told me Zod and Yup seem to be used quite often with Next
November 15, 2025 at 6:16 PM
I don't use Next :) From what friends have told me it's breaking changes all the time. I like my applications not causing me a headache when touching it again after a few month πŸ˜‰
That's why I try to stay away from hot frameworks and rely mostly on web standards & small stable libraries if necessary

I noticed "post views" on Bluesky on a screenshot. As far as I know that metric isn't collected by Bluesky. Is it just a design mistake or what source are you using to get the number of views?

Yes, of course!

One of my professors used to say: there are 24 hours in a day; if that is not enough we'll make use of the night too

Not paired with Next.js but yes, Zod's still my go to for validation on the server as well as on the client (occasionally). What other options are on your radar?

Nice directory! Just found this post after wondering why the link in your bio is not working.

Nice! Did you write it from scratch or did you use any libraries?

What's your take on the whole search conversation?
November 9, 2025 at 12:45 PM
Google has AI mode sitting there, collecting usage data. And it has their own index and ranking data. If any of the other companies shows signs of having found a viable business model in AI search Google has several options; copying and buying, among others. And just keep on printing money.
November 9, 2025 at 12:45 PM
Personal opinion: Looking at the cash flow of Google vs basically all AI startups, Google can keep playing this game a long time (making a bit less profit) while their "competitors" sooner or later will have to show signs of profitability, not just fancy valuations.

Wow, congrats on the milestone!

Do you have a link to the course? I found lots of (bad/uninteresting) stuff on Google Ads but would love to understand it better

What if I share the app with my spouse (common use case for grocery lists) and both of us happen to use it at the same time; wouldn't that also lead to potential data loss for one of us?
