Went to the Halloween Frolic in Hiawatha KS. It's the oldest continuous Halloween Frolic/Parade in the US. This year marks the town's 111th parade.

Really fun to see Halloween brought to life like this.

This is the first of many dictionary pages.

I will be using a word from each page as a prompt for whatever art I put on it. I pick whichever word stands out to me most for my prompt.

Once I have enough pages, I will start my journey in selling my art at craft shows! Til then, wish me luck!

Somehow I managed to never draw kawaii art until tonight. So glad I did cuz this was fun!

Most of my drawings have sharp angular lines. Kawaii is nothing but soft round shapes. Not sure how much I'll really incorporate in the future but it did challenge me in a very good way.

This was inspired by all the vibes of Bill Skarsgard in the movie Locked.

Something about a guy in a hoodie has always looked cool to me so I wanted to put that into my art.

Without realizing it, this caricature also resembles certain features of my husband. It's interesting how life influences us

This was a doodle that got carried away. I was testing different mediums and primers on a dictionary page. I came to the conclusion that primer makes the paper too wrinkly.

I used this page to test gouache on a larger scale. It held up but I ended up using acrylic markers and that worked out better

This piece was inspired by an owl that lives near me, hooting at night. It's one of the most soothing sounds I've ever heard.

This piece reflects the fierceness of animals in the wild. They are battered and bruised, but become stronger because of it. Their resilience is something to admire.
