My favourite pot: Minonian jar with an octopus 🐙 #archaeology
This jar stands at an impressive height of 75 cm. The painted decoration depicts an octopus, swimming in an abstract seascape. The jar comes from the Minoan palace at Knossos, on the island of Crete, and was created in the 15th century BCE.

I love Nolan’s films—most of them, I’ll admit.
But the classicist in me screams:
The whole point of the Odyssey is—do not defy the gods!
Still... I can’t wait to see what he does.

Excavating on Brač Island 🇭🇷 comes with its own cast of characters. One very friendly goat has taken a liking to our team (and our lunches), while a flock of rather judgmental sheep keeps a suspicious distance 🐐❤️🐑👀 Field archaeology & local animals. #archaeology
