As snowfall ramps up this winter, be sure to brush or blow to clear off the snow from your vehicle. If snow or ice flies off your vehicle and causes damage, under Maine state law you can be charged for driving with an unsecured load.

MaineDOT will be implementing nighttime closures of Broadway in Bangor from Dec. 8 to Dec. 9, between 8PM & 6AM each night for excavation work. During the nighttime closures, Broadway will be closed to all vehicular traffic.

LAP commuter bus service will be canceled on Tuesday, December 2 due to expected winter weather. We encourage riders to plan alternative transportation. Normal operations are expected to resume Wednesday, December 3.

Frank J. Wood Bridge in Brunswick/Topsham update!

The southbound lane on the new bridge is open today and will be open again tomorrow morning. Note: the lane will close tomorrow afternoon for final grading and paving.

The bridge is expected to open to two-way traffic in Mid-December.

Here’s a bird’s-eye view of the temporary bridge carrying I-95 traffic over Broadway Street in Bangor! This major project, led by our contracting partners at New England Infrastructure, includes replacing two interstate bridges and improving nearby sections of Route 15.

Stillwater Avenue in Old Town will experience overnight closures between November 9 and November 13, from 8 PM to 5 AM. The exact nights of closure within this timeframe have not yet been determined. MaineDOT will provide updates via our website.

Starting this evening, the I-95 Exit 109A NB & SB off ramps onto Western Avenue westbound will reopen & both eastbound & westbound Western Avenue traffic will remain on the new bridge. Exit 109B will remain closed until further notice. Please drive safely through the work zones in the area.

No tricks but we do have a treat! Eastbound traffic on the Ticonic Bridge has been reopened! Thank you for your patience while crews worked to restore this important connection. Westbound traffic will remain closed, so please keep following the posted detour routes.

Ever spotted those black & white squares by the roadside? They’re called Ground Control Points which are markers surveyors use to help map out areas accurately. When drones take pictures from above, these points act like reference spots so everything lines up perfectly on a map.
