AI is useful for some things, but not the kind of discovery that humankind will need. It relies on what is known, what has been done.

Einstein discovered relativity by imagining himself riding on a particle of light.

Not in the AI wheelhouse. Fund humans.

This is an important post. Alex is my son.

I am also a molec, genomics scientist who has worked in the area of and taught scientific imagination. For me, AI on the edge of discovery is so stupid it is dangerous. I am sure it will negatively impact discovery.

U.S. military spending is set to hit a record $1 trillion.

Roughly half of defense spending goes to private contractors that routinely price-gouge the government.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon has failed seven straight audits.

This is the military industrial complex on steroids.

So, Trump tariffs led to China getting soybeans from other nations and farm equipment prices rising. And for that we are giving the farmers another $12B bailout and selling China chips?

My head hurts.

I started Democracy Docket in 2020 to be unapologetically pro-democracy. It will never back down. It doesn’t seek compromise or half measures. It has no corporate overlords or venture capitalists. It relies only on you. Support it now. hubs.ly/Q03CbHTt0

No human being is garbage, unless you choose to run other people’s lives with bullying, trash talking, and cruelty.

It’s past time - if you voted for this garbage, I didn’t read that, I haven’t heard that, etc. Doesn’t work anymore.
