yeah, in my twitch chat. i know lots of people liked to troll DA streamers because they think DA hasn't always been woke from the beginning or they just chose it as a cultural target but yeah i quickly went from trying to address in good faith to realising that was a pointless waste of energy lol

I don't think I've had much vitriol, tbh. I think part of it is that I'm boring to bait because I don't get drawn in easily. I had someone in my chat try to annoy me by asking me to explain how something about the DA setting was problematic so I declined & called them out for being disingeniuous lol

When politely contradicting someone on Twitter leads to them saying something along the lines of "idk why you're so worked up about this", when I'm chilling, just makes me realise that they're very worked up so I just let it go lol I kinda feel bad for people without self awareness. Gotta be rough

One of my partners has English as a second language so I don't want to be nitpicky when he does it but I find it a bit contagious when people do it & I start using it too due to a desire for ease of communication. I have a lot of bad experiences from those environments so that doesn't help haha

I hate that corporate speak has leaked into personal conversations. I don't want to touch base, reach out, or check in. I want to stare deeply into your being while I try to relate to your experience. But I spent maybe a couple of decades in office jobs & I go along with it still

Maybe I could get an animation of doing a poi dance instead. Glowing poi even! I don't think anyone would mind if I did a haka, all kids did kapa haka at my school, but I don't feel comfortable bc it doesn't feel respectful for me to depict it without context of an appropriate important occasion
