Hello, We've just joined Bluesky. Just wanted to say, "Hi!"

What will we post about? Most likely flowers. Maybe our restoration efforts. Probably cool stuff we dig up.

We also host a podcast -- extremely short episodes about gardens around the world. You can find it at all the podcast places.

This old farm looks good this time of year, even with all the work left to do. Respecting the old while adding the new. It's a way of life and part of our ethos.

Cosmos. Native to Mexico and its neighbors south. One of the prettiest garden flowers in late summer. Tall, spindly stems with small (about 2 in.) flowers. Our pollinator friends love them. Annual. Grows from seed. A few are still blooming this time of year.

A lovely hydrangea. Always reminds me of my wedding day.

Yellow Jewelweed. Tall plant. Small flowers. Blooms from summer to frost. Likes to grow along the edge of the forest in the shadier, damper areas. Self seeds. One of the few remaining flowers around here now as we are settling into cooler temperatures.

Japanese beetle. He might be pretty as far as insects go, but he's a real rapscallion.

Ahhh, the late summer asters. When many other flowers are fading, the asters thrive, providing a food source for our buzzy friends.

Knapweed. Can grow up to 5 feet tall. Blooms late summer to autumn. Grows well in disturbed areas. Commonly found along roadsides and in pastures. Considered a widespread invasive in various regions of the U.S. Pollinators love it.

Peony 'Sarah Bernhardt'. Autumn came early for us here. Flowers are fading fast. This one is a throwback to June. One of our favorites. Its beauty and scent never disappoint.

Goldenrod. Can be grown to enrich soil with nitrogen. Often found along roadsides, the wood's edge, and abandoned fields. Insects love it. Plant cousin to daisies and sunflowers. A good plant to have around.

This isn't from our garden. Found it in the photos on my phone -- between flowers that ARE in my garden. No idea how it got there. Hmmmm . . . I like it.

Another snap from a walk in our woods. We are working to clear the trails with the plan to invite visitors to enjoy the same hikes we do. So far, we have about a 2-ish mile loop (we think) with a couple of detours to places like this.
