All super rich guys sound the same now. It’s all “I sleep four hours a night and spend the other twenty hours a day developing a product that’s going to bring us the best widespread poverty anyone’s ever seen.”

This composition had eluded me for nearly a decade, but yesterday I was finally able to capture it. A train rolled through just as the Duquesne Incline was crossing over the tracks in #Pittsburgh, creating a picture perfect winter scene. It was worth the hours and hours I've waited over the years.

By contrast, Patel favors a tactical jacket that says "FBI." Sam Stein at The Bulwark reports that Patel allegedly wouldn't disembark the plane in the aftermath of the Kirk assassination without wearing an FBI raid jacket, which he borrowed from an agent.

Never noticed this, but it appears Kash Patel is the first FBI director to deviate from the usual coat-and-tie uniform. Other directors have always worn a suit, even in critical moments, such as Robert Mueller meeting with reporters on 9/11.

For our last couple trips, I've been wanting to send out postcards to my friends from the road. I finally did it, only to realize a couple hours after dropping them in the mail I forgot to include the recipients' addresses.

Median US households (income $80K) are in poverty if the same calculations as in 1963 are used to rebase the poverty line threshold.
Why the USA is stressed: in 1963, poverty was defined as family income < 3x food budget. But costs have exploded since 1963, and food is now 5-7% of a budget including health, college, childcare, housing, etc—a realistic food budget multiplier for poverty is 16x, so families under $130K are poor.

In Monrovia, California, protesters are purchasing 17¢ ICE scrapers from Home Depot and immediately returning them to create long lines and slow down the entire store. Their aim is to disrupt sales and convey a message opposing ICE raids occurring in their neighborhood.

“Short bursts indicate an ICE sighting. Long whistles indicate agents making arrests. If you hear the whistle and you’re undocumented, said [Whitney Hu, a community activist and organizer with South Brooklyn Mutual Aid], ‘you hide. And if you’re somebody who’s not, you go to the street.’”
As ICE Street Raids Ramp Up, New Yorkers Stock Up On Whistles
Taking a cue from Chicago, community groups have distributed thousands of whistles in recent weeks — a grassroots system people in other cities have adopted to help neighbors sound the alarm.

Bold move for a man aging almost twice as fast as the normal human to propose a mortgage almost twice as long
This is good reporting and all that but here's the thing I learned the other day: Bill Pulte, the 50-year-mortgage dude and the guy who keeps pulling the mortgage docs of Trump's enemies is only 37 years old.
