Depending on how annoying the discourse is gonna be I would be wandering if it would be even worth it.
I kinda want to think Budiansky found Headmaster gimmick so dumb, he gave equely dumb explonation how it got introduce. "Autobots to sign of peace decapitated themselve".
I already saw people not fan of this desicion, but since the discussion were still mainly in fandom, it was generally seen as a nice change of pace... imagine when casual transformers fans react to it, as if it was actual murder.
Seeing people not familiar with Skybound transformers reacting to the animated series news, just makes me worry to reactions to the first episode with the death of a certain character. Like, I'm geniunly afraid this might cause bigger drama.
And for context, this isn't about magic shouldn't have rules to them, most shonen mangas have magic systems for example. It's about explaining magic as just science, disregarding all mystical aspects from it.
1. It's actually two shows that they are gonna be aired simultaneously.
2. It's mainly transformers shows, but it will have back up post credit stories that will feautues GI Joe.
which DWJ run imo would work for a stand alone adaptation, GI Joe i don't think it's at the point you were you can tell the story with a proper end point. Unless, you will mainly adapt the miniseries. As to how it would work, if I can make speculation, I can see two options.
Transformers comic does have some crossover elements, like the MARS people showing up, and GI Joe comic has been kick started by the events of TF book and has some elements like Energon weapons and certain characters. But my issue comes with that unlike TF,
I just had debate about use of magic in stories and it really made me to think that in an age of nitpicks and cinemasins, the suspension of diebelief is truly dead, if people can't just accept magic as magic.
There's also Headmaster, but he's deal is that he hijacks robots, so he makes more fitting foe to Autobots. Overall, I think there's a reason where Transformers do human villains, you only need like one superpower one, or some giant terrorist organasation.
Yeah, I think the problem into making Transformers a superhero show is that most of supervillains are 3 times smaller, so it never seem like a fair challenge. Not helping only Nanosec and Meltdown had their own focus episodes, while others are more background characters.
I hope it at least it's gonna be better than whatever this was.
So, IDW lost another licence from Hasbro lmao.
Idk if "Caught up with the show on the Treadmill" is a form of expression, or you were literally watching a show while running on a treadmill... cause I personally watch shows nowadays while riding on a stationary bike. Good way to keep up with both watching shows and training.
Some thoughts on SHf's story (spoilers in the pic)
I swear, Hollywood made people think "adult orianted" just means "sex and violance".
Tbf, Void RIvals' first issue was meant to act like a silent start for the Energon Universe, with Jetfire apperance being a suprised reveal.
People who have not read the comic but are shitting on the idea of it being "adult-focused" I want to say, don't buy into the impression, cause I assure this is not an edgefest, like Netflix trilogy. This has actually one of the most wholesome Optimus Prime incarnations in recent years.
As someone who read the comic the show is meant to be based, this is indeed the time, were adult transformers story was actually done right.
I think they confused him for being a sole writers of Energon Universe, as supposed to being just an architect of that universe, if I have to give some benefit of the doubt.
Actually both Robots in Disguise (2015) and Cyberverse did have combiners in them (I'm not bringing up the Machinima shows).
Honestly, only the last show, Earthspark didn't have any combiners in them (I'm not bringing up theNetflix shows).
Yeah, op already said that, and I agree. Maybe I was saying this to have some kind off hope for SOME 2D transformers show. I guess, I think the best thing to hope for is a stylised 3D show.
TBF, plot wise Void Rivals is the most disconnected, since it takes place in far off space. Although I would not be suprise if they plan it as potential idea for a spin-off.
Unless you only adapt Duke and Cobra miniseries's.
